Natural flu prevention – Take Vitamins C and D3

The following information is provided by a doctor friend of mine:

Vitamin D3 – A study in the Virology Journal (February 25, 2008) states, “2000 I.U. of Vitamin D3 per day abolished the seasonality of influenza and dramatically reduced its self reported incidence.” Vitamin D3 is crucial to our body’s initial defense (called innate immunity) against infections.

Vitamin D3 – 2000 I.U.s has also been found to reduce the risk of cancer by 50% (Annals of Epidemiology July 2009 pg. 468-483) A brief quote from the study reads as follows:
“Daily doses of 2000 I.U.s of Vitamin D3
would prevent approximately 58,000 new cases of breast cancer and 49,000 new cases of colorectal cancer each year, and three fourths of deaths from these diseases in the United States and Canada, based on observational studies combined with a randomized trial. Such intakes also are expected to reduce case-fatality rates of patients who have breast, colorectal or prostate cancer by half. There are no unreasonable risks from intake of 2000 I.U. per day of vitamin D3. The time has arrived for nationally coordinated action to substantially increase intake of vitamin D and calcium.

Vitamin C – “In a controlled trial of over 700 students, the vitamin C-treated test group (showing flu/cold symptoms) given 1000 mg every hour for the first six hours (and three times daily afterwards) vs. the control population who were treated with pain relievers and decongestants showed an 85% reduction in symptoms. Vitamin C “administered before or after the appearance of cold and flu symptoms relieved and prevented the symptoms in the test population compared with the control group.” (Source: Gorton HC. The effectiveness of Vitamin C in preventing and relieving the symptoms of virus induced respiratory infections. J. Manipulative Physiol Ther. 1999 Oct;22(8): 530-3.)

kuan-yinBy now most people will have realized that the US dollar, our currency, is on shaky ground at best. At worst, it’s in quick decline.

There are many systemic reasons for this from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, to runaway Congressional spending, outrageous bail out programs, policies of the Federal Reserve, and more.

But whatever the causes, we currently require money to sustain ourselves and its wise to know what is occurring and how we can best protect ourselves and our loved ones.

Fortunately, there are some things we can do right now that may help us greatly in the long run. We can even begin to see the changes in the wind as opportunities to create a healthier, more stable and satisfying world for us all. But we have to act NOW.

I’ve been studying currency, banking, and economics for years and will be offering suggestions for your own research and decision making processes as we all go forward in the best ways possible.

Some of the topics covered include:

          * The nature of money
          * A brief history of the paper dollar and the Federal Reserve
          *  What is inflation
          * Protection vs Investing
          * A quick primer on gold and silver
          * Resources for your own research
          * Imagination, focus, and creation of the future

I’m making this talk available exclusively to folks on my mailing list as a service and opportunity to learn together during these dynamic times.

I hope you’ll join me for an energetic presentation and discussion!

When: Saturday, November 7
               6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Where: The Food Co-op Connection Building
(1220 N. Forrest Street)
Cost: Free (any donations will be applied to future events)

Please RSVP at 739-3186

This will be one of my last posts on this subject as Mercola’s site is very comprehensive and covers the subject quite thoroughly.

Bottom line, do your own research and please consider protecting yourself through natural means.

why invest in gold and silver

This is an interesting talk on gold and silver and how they relate to the decline of the dollar currency. All three parts are worth watching.

a healthy response to the swine flu hysteria

I believe very little of what the main stream media is telling us about swine flu these days. Nor do I trust the sacred word of our current elected and bureaucratic leaders.

I wish it were not so, but it seems obvious by now that our political and media structures are heavily compromised by special interests. Just look at the recent wave of bailouts that have been made at the expense of the taxpayers, all of us.

That said, where are we to go for our information? Who are we to trust? Fortunately, there are quite a few reliable sources out there as well as documents, interviews, and statistics that can paint a clearer picture if we take the time to do a little digging around.

Remember the crazy, pointless hype in recent years over such non-events as SARS, West Nile, Bird Flu, etc.. They were all made out to be the next global medical terror and each fizzled out to nothing. I am equally suspicious about all this swine flu hysteria now, especially as regards the highly suspicious vaccine that is being made mandatory in certain sectors. So what exactly is the swine flu?

I came upon the following article by Dr. Mercola over at mercola.com. I have found him to be a well educated and enlightened resource over the years. He makes several particularly important points:

1. This swine flu appears to be a weak virus. Those who have supposedly died from it have likely had weak immune systems to begin with as other types of flu statistically cause such deaths. The vast majority of reported swine flu cases have been mild.

2. This is not the first time we’ve encountered the swine flu. Back in the 1970’s there was a swine flu scare and a national vaccination program. The program resulted in $1.3 billion worth of claims filed by people who suffered paralysis after receiving injection. Several hundred people developed crippling Guillain-Barre Syndrom with even healthy 20 year-olds ending up as paraplegics. The vaccine was also blamed for at least 25 deaths. The swine flu pandemic itself never materialized as a problem.

3. The swine flu hysteria is set to make a few companies a LOT of money. Couple this with the fact that the pharmaceutical industry gives huge amounts of money to our politicians. The vaccine makers have now been given immunity from any suits that might be filed due to injury from the vaccines. These are all huge red flags that make it even more important to investigate things for yourself.

4. There are a lot of things  you can do to naturally protect yourself from swine flu and other seasonally occurring flus:

     1) Optimize your vitamin D levels. Vitamin D deficiency is likely the true cause of seasonal flus.
     2) Avoid sugar and processed foods as these can weaken your immune system.
     3)  Get enough rest.
     4) Have effective tools to address stress
     5) Exercise regularly
     6) Take a good animal based source of Omega-3 fats
     7) Wash your hands reguarly
8 ) Eat garlic regularly for its natural antibiotic properties
     9) Avoid vaccines and hospitals – again, the last swine flu vaccine harmed and killed more people than the swine flu itself. This time around, the vaccine is not completely tested for safety and contains known toxic ingredients such as squalene, thimerosal, and others. (google those two for more information)

So this is an introductory discussion about the swine flu and the vaccination program. I encourage you to read Dr. Mercola’s whole article HERE.  He has many other good articles with links to video and such on his site. There are also useful discussions on Youtube and elsewhere on the web. I’ll be posting some of those in the coming days. The more we know, the wiser our choices can be for a bright and healthy future.

Wishing you well!

What is Money?

Its a strange system and its not currently in our best interest…

Money is an idea… it is a system whereby people within a society exchange value with one another. When the system is fundamentally flawed, we begin to see problems of the sort the world is experiencing now. After watching this short film, you may understand our current system a bit better and realize the essential need for monetary reform. See what you think…

Inflation…

This three part video is a bit “dramatic” for my taste, but it does explain things in clear terms. I do believe we are wise to understand the dynamics that are unfolding around us so we can make wise choices. There are many good things we can do, but first lets be clear about these systems and the “set up”. See what  you think…

backgrounder #1: place your bet…

It should be obvious to most by now that we live in the midst of profoundly corrupt systems, especially when it comes to money and investing. Its important that we begin to unravel the truth about these things and that we do something about it … and quickly! This is our world, all of us together, and we need not bend over to the manipulations of those who would live off the blood, sweat, and tears of others. Honestly, enough is enough!

I am going to discuss some of the things I’ve observed about the world we live in and what we can do to respond in creative and life affirming ways. I will also be posting many articles and video clips that will hopefully prove helpful for those reading this blog.

Ok, lets begin with a look at money, particularly currency. It is important to realize that our money (read: means of survival in the modern world) is heavily manipulated. This is largely owed to the fact that it is no longer backed by anything of value and so can be created out of nothing by the “for profit” Federal Reserve Bank. More on that shortly…

But the main point is simply that the value of our money is not stable. It fluctuates continuously according to an array of financial machinations that cause its value to rise or, most often, fall.

This was not so when our currency was backed by gold and silver. At that time, its value held quite stable for a great many years. Once Nixon took us off the gold standard, however, the value of the dollar began its long, steady descent as more and more dollars were printed backed by nothing thus devaluing the savings and earning power of the average citizen. At this point in time, the value of the dollar is more than 90% less than what it was when it was backed by gold. This inflationary trend is continuing faster than ever as our politicians are spending money we don’t have hand over fist and the banks are creating it at breakneck speed.

Historically, every single culture which has tried to have a currency backed only by the “faith and decree of the government” has seen its value completely destroyed in the end. So, what is my main point at the moment? Only this: if you are saving the earnings of your labors in US dollars, you are making a bet that those dollars will hold their value for you into the future. Unfortunately, this bet is looking pretty bad at this point.

Everyone who is betting on the dollar as an honest reserve of wealth will likely find themselves losing it all… I know that may sound harsh, but the facts bear it out very clearly. The dollar is a bet, just like any other currency is a bet, like real estate is a bet, or stocks, or bonds, or gold and silver are bets. The best we can do is to look at the fundamentals and the history around these things and make our most educated choice.

In future posts I’ll have a lot more to say about precious metals as a way of preserving wealth, particularly silver. In the meantime, if you are new to all this, you can do a youtube search for the federal reserve or the dollar and find some excellent posts… I’ll include some here as well.

Peace and good will,
AB
